Ed Potts began working as a part time Pharmacy Technician at the age of 16. It was during those early years that he developed a vision for his future as a pharmacist. He graduated from Purdue University in 1979 and has been working as a full time Pharmacist for 35 years.
In November of 1986, Ed became the owner and Pharmacist of The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Fairfield, IL. He has been driven by a lifelong passion to help people and serve his community. Over the years, his business and family have grown more than he could have ever expected. Since he began his career, his motivation and drive has been affirmed through the verse, "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be the glory in the church by Jesus Christ to all generations, forever and ever, Amen." (NKJV, Ephesians 3:20-21). That passion has driven him to continued education in order to better serve the needs of his customers. In 2006 Ed began to develop an interest in Pharmaceutical Compounding and began his training in that specialty. In 2009 he further developed that skill through additional training, and in 2011 joined the Professional Compounding Centers of America (PCCA). He has a passion for compounding, mixing and making medications based on a patient's specific needs, because he knows that specialty compounded medication meets the unique needs of his customers.
"We want our customers to know that we care for them and for their health. We are here to reach out to the customer at any level that they need. Our caring is truly beyond prescriptions. It is not just about pushing medication, but about getting to know our patients and helping them gain and maintain a healthy mind, body, and spirit through education, medication, natural remedies, and support. Our continuing educaton and certifications are done to better ourselves for our community." - Ed Potts, RPh
